Editorial policy
Eastern Weekend Guide aims to make its descriptions accurate, its choices visible and its corrections straightforward. We write about culture with attention to context and avoid presenting a single account as the whole story.
Accuracy and context
We check names, terms and factual details against suitable references before publication. Stories should identify their geographic and cultural scope clearly, distinguish fact from interpretation, and avoid unsupported claims. Where a point is uncertain or varies by context, the wording should say so rather than imply certainty.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. A partnership does not guarantee coverage or a favourable view. Paid or otherwise supported material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work; partner placements are also identified as such.
Corrections and illustrations
Readers can send correction requests through the Contact page. We review specific, actionable reports and correct material when warranted, making the change clear where appropriate. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; such images are labelled, and are not presented as documentary photographs.
A weekend is a way of seeing
The places and customs around leisure reveal what a community values. We look closely at their forms, histories and everyday details.
