Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand the places, customs and creative life around weekends across eastern Asia. Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option.
What we are looking for
Propose a focused story about a custom, public space, art form, foodway or seasonal practice. Strong pitches name the place and subject, explain the central question, and show what readers will understand by the end. We welcome clear, original writing that treats local context carefully and avoids broad claims about diverse communities.
Make the scope clear
Tell us what material the piece would draw on and where the limits of the account lie. A pitch may compare forms, explain a design choice, trace a cultural history or offer a close reading of a particular setting. Avoid proposals that depend on unsupported generalisations, promotional claims or access you cannot confirm.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page to share a working title, short outline, relevant experience and any potential conflicts of interest. A proposal is not a commissioned assignment. Do not send confidential material or imply that a contribution has been accepted before receiving a reply.
A weekend is a way of seeing
The places and customs around leisure reveal what a community values. We look closely at their forms, histories and everyday details.
